Is Aviator Legal in Uganda?

Yes, with a licensed operator. Betting and gaming in Uganda are regulated by the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB), and players must be 18+. Licences are renewed every year, so check that the site you use is currently licensed.

The 2026 tax changes

• 15% withholding tax on winnings under the Income Tax (Amendment) Act, 2026, calculated on payout minus stake. Licensed operators deduct it before paying you.
• Operator taxes are being harmonised by a Lotteries and Gaming (Amendment) Bill. That affects bookmakers' margins and promotions more than the game itself.

Example: you stake UGX 10,000 and cash out at 3x (UGX 30,000). The taxable gain is UGX 20,000, so about UGX 3,000 is withheld and you receive about UGX 27,000.

Your mobile-money PIN only goes into your phone's own prompt. Anyone asking for it — "agent", "customer care" or "Aviator bot" — is a fraudster.
